This great book was written to prove the power of the Prophet, Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, and has been unreciprocated for the last 68 years (now 117 years), and those who burn by reading the virtues and authority of the great Beloved of Allah, SallaAllahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, have been helpless and could not challenge this book. And through the grace of Allah it will remain the same, ''And Allah allows not the guile of betrayers'' - (Surah Yusuf 12: 52).

This book takes the reader through stages leading up to, during and after death. It firstly includes the importance of remembering death as well as aspects of the grave including the questioning by Munkar and Nakir. There is a detailed account of the day of resurrection which includes the Scales, the Bridge and the Intercession. A whole chapter is dedicated to Paradise and Hell. A further chapter is devoted to Hanafi Law concerning the deceased. The end of the book is beautified by Surahs from Quran al Karim.

Imām Ahmad Ridā Khān (b. 1272 AH/1856 CE) was a renowned Hanafī jurist, hadīth expert and theologian par excellence, recognized by scholars from the Islāmic world to be a reviver of his era. He was a prolific writer whose legal edicts were gathered into twelve encyclopaedic volumes and covered almost every science of his day. Love for the Prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him, was the prime focus of his life, so much so that his wishes were vanquished and he became a follower of the wishes of the beloved, peace be upon him. This is the state mentioned in the hadīth: "that a man's desires are compliant with that [message] which I have come with" (wa an yakunu hawāhu tab'an limaa ji'tu bihi).
